The 15th EASTEC-PACIFIC CONFERENCE ON STRUCTUAL ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION was held in Xi’an on October 11-13, 2017 under the auspices of Academician Yang Yongbin of our university Sofitel People’s Tower was grandly held. Academician Yang as the conference chairman of this international conference. More than 430 experts and scholars from 21 countries and regions attended the conference, which included 21 thematic reports, 21 regular meetings and 20 special meetings. A total of 251 related papers were received at the conference. The hot issues in the field of structural engineering and engineering construction are discussed.
Since the first EASEC meeting was held in Bangkok on January 15-17, 1986. The conference has been successfully held in 14 countries in Thailand, China, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam and other places. The conference aims to provide academics and engineers in the field of structural engineering and engineering construction with a stage to show new progress, new technologies and practical reports. It is the most influential conference in the Asia-Pacific region in this field, with scholars and experts from various countries participating in the conference.
Academicians Yang Yongbin reviewed the previous sessions at the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony of the current EASEC-15 Conference, affirmed the achievements made at the conference, expressed the organizers of the conference and the scholars attending the conference thank. Academician Yang at the same time made a high-speed railway on the bridge coupling academic report, aroused the interest of many researchers.
Professor Yang Yongbin is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Austria. He is an internationally renowned civil engineer with a H index of 46 on Google Scholar and a total citations of over 7,000. In 2016, One of the scholars. He is also the editor in chief of the International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics (IJSSD) and the chair of two international academic organizations: APACM and EASEC.
The successful holding of this meeting plays an important role in enhancing the international reputation of civil engineering in our university. Our school’s civil engineering discipline has been included in the construction of the national “first-class discipline” list. Academician Yang has worked with many researchers to improve the level of civil engineering disciplines and international influence in our university.
